Abstract Color Studies

A compilation of twenty abstract color studies to represent the year 2020. Each a compositionally layered and colorfully detailed rendition of the various changing seasons throughout the year, reflective of the time, energy, and emotions held in that moment. These gain color inspiration from the entirety of the series of works and mini color palette studies recorded throughout the calendar year and are translated as a larger scale color diary of sorts. An emphasis on brushstroke movement and the interaction of hues maintains the central focus. Specific color scale interactions are called out by the artist signature with inspiration from a musical score as they are all named and draw their movement from song lyrics.

This collection is mixed media (watercolor and acrylic) on 16” x 20” sized unstretched canvas.
