Palette Studies
I like to keep a color diary of the palette used for each piece. It helps me to work out the mixture of hues and color combinations while I am painting. The lines on each square were happenstance with a dropped brush one day and I just went with it. I love how these have become their own mini work of art and how structured the squares can feel next to the organic movement of the watermarks. It's become a meditative practice for me as I work through each piece. I love the idea of tucking a small one in to a bookshelf display framed in a large mat, framing a few together for a small color gallery, or framing a bunch in a larger display for a modern accent piece.
